His Excellency Ambassador Hussein Awad Ali, the Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs, participated in the 48th Annual Ministerial Meeting of the Group of 77 and China, held on the sidelines of the high-level week of the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly.

The meeting was held under the theme: “Addressing Financing Challenges to Support the Full Implementation of the 2030 Agenda to Ensure No One and No Country is Left Behind.”

In his statement, the Minister addressed the war imposed on the Sudanese people by certain regional countries and the militias supported by these states, highlighting the severe humanitarian, economic, and social consequences. He explained how the rebel militias have targeted infrastructure and civilian facilities, leading to the halt of production in vital sectors.

Delegates’ statements reaffirmed their commitments to funding the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and enhancing South-South cooperation to achieve inclusive and sustainable development for their peoples.
