Press Statement

Within its continuous and deliberate targeting of humanitarian facilities, especially hospitals, the Janjaweed terrorist militia yesterday bombed the Omdurman Maternity Hospital (Al-Dayat), a day after it was reopened, in the wake of being liberated from the Militia’s occupation. The latter had looted the Hospital’s equipment and furniture, converting it into a military barracks for a whole year.
The Militia has been targeting functioning hospitals and continued to occupy a large number of them in violation of the international humanitarian law and the “Jeddah Declaration.”

The Militia’s regional sponsors who supply it with long-range artillery and drones, that it uses to bomb residential areas, villages and hospitals, bear responsibility for these crimes against humanity.

We call on the United Nations, its specialized agencies, and the entire international community to condemn these terrorist acts and the systematic targeting of defenseless civilians and humanitarian institutions.
