The Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Hussein Awad Ali, met today in Kuala Lumpur with his Malaysian counterpart, H.E. Mohamed Hassan, on the sidelines of the “Sudan Conference: The Forgotten War”, which was held today in the Malaysian capital.
The meeting discussed ways to develop bilateral relations between the two countries and push them forward, and topics of common interest.
During the meeting, the Malaysian Foreign Minister responded to the Minister’s request to consider extending the residencies granted by the Malaysian government to Sudanese who came to it during the war for an additional year.
The Minister also thanked the Malaysian government for its interest in Sudanese students
in Malaysian universities and schools and allocating an additional thousand opportunities for Sudanese students in Malaysian universities and higher institutes, calling for granting more opportunities to Sudanese students who came during the war. The Malaysian Foreign Minister expressed his interest in the matter and promised to consider it.
