THE REPUBLIC OF THE SUDAN
MINISTRY OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS
DEPARTMENT OF MEDIA AND SPOKESPERSON
Press Statement
Continuing the rebel militia’s approach of targeting humanitarian facilities and endangering the lives of defenseless civilians, today, October 21, the rebels bombed the Al-Manara Water Station, north of Omdurman, with 13 tanks, 8 of which fell into the water purification basin, which led to the station’s work being temporarily stopped to measure the effect of toxins on the water. Al-Manara Water Station is one of the main water stations in the Omdurman region, especially Karari Governorate. Its cessation will expose the entire governorate to thirst
This heinous crime is added to a long list of atrocities that have been committed by the rebel militia, such as the bombing of safe residential areas in the capital and other cities and villages, which claimed the lives of dozens of citizens over the past weeks, its continued occupation of hospitals, the occupation of the Bahri water station, and its looting of food, medicine and necessary materials warehouses, and besiegement the city of Nyala, in addition to detention of thousands of civilians for use as human shields
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs renews its condemnation of this desperate terrorist behavior by the rebel militia, whose war has become on defenseless citizens, civilian areas and facilities after losing its battle with the armed forces.
The Ministry again calls on the international community to condemn these ongoing terrorist crimes
