His Excellency Ambassador Hussein Awad Ali, the Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs, participated in the meeting of the Council of the League of Arab States at the ministerial level, held at the League’s headquarters in Cairo on Tuesday, September 10, 2024.

The meeting saw the participation of most Arab foreign ministers and witnessed the transfer of the council’s presidency from Mauritania to Yemen. The session was addressed by the Secretary-General of the Arab League and many prominent guests, including Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, Josep Borrell, High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy of the European Union, and Sigrid Kaag, UN Under-Secretary-General and Senior Coordinator for Humanitarian Affairs and Gaza Reconstruction.

The meeting agenda included key issues concerning the Arab world, and the session concluded with a unified Arab decision to support the Palestinian cause, which participants agreed to prioritize and give utmost importance in the council’s decisions.
