THE REPUBLIC OF THE SUDAN
MINISTRY OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS
DEPARTMENT OF MEDIA AND SPOKESPERSON
Press Release
The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement yesterday regarding the humanitarian situation in Sudan, which included a call to violate Sudan’s sovereignty under the pretext of delivering humanitarian aid. The statement also mentioned restrictions allegedly imposed by the armed forces on the delivery of humanitarian assistance.
This statement is nothing more than a desperate attempt by Abu Dhabi to evade responsibility for the war being waged by the terrorist militia, a creation of the UAE, against the Sudanese people, with full planning, arming, and financing by the UAE. This is why major international newspapers and reputable publications have labeled the current events as the “UAE’s War in Sudan.” The deliberate starvation strategy employed by the militia is just one part of this war. If the UAE is truly concerned about the bloodshed and safety of Sudanese people, it should stop supplying the militia with the weapons that are being used to kill Sudanese citizens, deprive them of producing their own food, and obstruct the delivery of aid. Only then will peace be achieved, and the humanitarian suffering will cease.
The question remains: does the UAE’s welcome of a Security Council role indicate its agreement to consider Sudan’s documented complaint against it for its role in the war and in the crimes of ethnic cleansing and starvation in Sudan? And just as the UAE announced the amount it provided to UN agencies as humanitarian aid for Sudan, will it also reveal the billions of dollars of the Emirati people’s money that it spent on the war against the Sudanese people?
