The Chairman of the Transitional Sovereignty Council and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, met with Rwandan President Paul Kagame in Kigali.
The meeting focused on bilateral relations between the two countries and ways to support and enhance them.
The Chairman of the Sovereignty Council briefed the Rwandan President on the situation in Sudan in the wake of the rebellion led by the terrorist Rapid Support Forces militia against the state and its institutions, and the ongoing efforts to address the crisis.
He explained that the Sudanese government has responded positively to all proposed initiatives, while the terrorist militia remains obstinate and refuses to fulfill the commitments outlined in the Jeddah Declaration signed on May 11.
General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan affirmed the Sudanese government’s commitment to peace, emphasizing that peace must be just and ensure dignity and honor for the Sudanese people.
For his part, the Rwandan President reaffirmed the strong relations between Sudan and Rwanda, expressing his gratitude to the Chairman of the Sovereignty Council for accepting the invitation and visiting Rwanda. He wished Sudan continued peace, security, and stability.
It is worth noting that the meeting was attended by the Director General of the General Intelligence Service, General Ahmed Ibrahim Mofaddal, and the Chargé d’Affaires of the Sudanese Embassy in Rwanda, Ambassador Khalid Mousa Dafallah.
